everyday make-up

Obviously this isn't my every single day routine, but these are the products I use most regularly. The days that I am running low on time I just use my Benefit concealer which I swear by, mascara, and a tiny bit of Stila eyeliner in a slightly sparkly grey. I'm particularly fond of Urban Decay's Naked palettes and am using mine in excess in order to try out Naked 3, coming to stores oh so soon.

Who doesn't love Sephora? I've grown up in the beauty-filled wonder, and so am thankful for this. That trademark smell releases the happiest of dopamine. I would sit and watch my mom get ready everyday. There was something about watching others do their hair and makeup and teaching myself to do the same and making it my own. I'll never forget the first time I saw a beautifully blended smoky eye when I was nine.. is that weird? I'm a perfectionist and my make-up is no exception, I love learning of new techniques and tools. I am grateful for the cosmetic industry for introducing me to the fabulous side of being a girl.

It has taken me much time to cultivate a perfect-for-me routine. I'm talking years, and what I've found is that I prefer a very matte foundation. I grew up in the immensely humid climate of North Florida so I preferred something on my face to not make me feel like I was clammy. Don't get me wrong I think some girls can really pull off the 'dewy' look, making me wish I was in their exclusive fairy-like club.

As of late I have some pretty tame make-up compared to my insane daily mask, which was quite extensive. However, my makeup has always been solely for me. This stemming from my mother and her mother, but even when we know we're not going anywhere we still have our war paint on (as my dad would call it). This reminds me of a sweatshirt I had that read "all dresses up and no place to go" and this is relevant presently. I enjoy getting ready every morning, there's a certain relaxing quality about it for me. Having ample time is key, being rushed just takes all the fun out of it. It's all about what works for you!

Simplicity is very important. Neutral colors and extenuating tones is what I strive for. All of the above are my highly recommended favorites and are necessities in my make-up bag.
