hello brooklyn

beanie: BCBG | shirt: UO | trousers: Zara | shoes: TopShop | bracelets: Treasured Accessory

I know I'm not speaking for myself when I say I died when American Horror Story featured my all-time favorite beanie. The genius style team for that show have got it goin' on. The veiled beanie, which I initially wrote about it here definitely makes a statement, and in my opinion a fab one.

I love mixing contrasting color palettes. Baby pink & navy being at the top of that list, with baby pink & burgundy closely following. As of late I have preferred a much more tailored look hence the trousers, which can be perfect to add some femininity to your work wardrobe. All of my favorite pieces lately have the perfect hint of masculinity. Perhaps stemming from my new-found independence? .. I think so!

btw, if you struggle to stomach pressed juice you are not alone. I'm more of an earl grey latte & mac 'n cheese gal (no kidding, every meal)

Happy sipping friends.

kurt geiger

top: Brandy Melville | jeans: UO | coat: Brandy Melville | shoes: Kurt Geiger

Christmas came a tad early this week in the form of my new KG beauts. I tend to shop when I'm overwhelmed (or happy, stressed, sad, angry.. etc.) I couldn't contain myself when I finally found them (and at a discounted rate). I first saw them a couple months back and searched high and low for something similar and cheaper. Low and behold, there they were, glistening from my laptop screen while ever so gently calling my name. A definite highlight of my week and motivation to get through finals. Please note, all black to express my discontent with this week. *sigh* see ya in a week!

shearling

If you ever get a minute stop by Syrup downtown and do yourself a favor. I got a bacon grilled cheese and a blueberry georgia peach (blueberry, peach, and earl grey). Early grey tea has been my latest not so guilty pleasure. Currently I am sipping on a earl grey lemonade made especially by Brittney.

I am so in love with all the wondrous variations BCBG has put together with their peplum sweaters. I mean have you seen their holiday collection?! I decided to go for the army green version, and am quite pleased. I can be quite picky with these suckers, and am relieved to have found the coveted one. The jacket is as you guessed, my mother's and in Penny Lane fashion denim and with plenty of fluff. Furry gigantic coats makes me wish I lived in NY, so I will cherish these days that feel frigid for us southern californians. I have my heart set on something baby pink or perhaps plaid, which may seem ridiculous for these two brief months of winter.

These FP boots are simply to die for. I got mine for Christmas two years back, and man has time flown. I have enjoyed every minute in my off black babies, I'd say they're worth the investment.

plaid + leather

shirt: James Perse | jeans: UO | jacket: Forever 21 | shoes: Topshop (similar)

Plaid, gold, leather, and oxblood four absolute necessities for me especially when all together. I've worn my super soft JP tee to bits and am currently in pursuit of something similar in black. Oftentimes these basics are overlooked, but they are so very vital. Lately I have been gravitating more towards the simpler, more natural choices compared to an overly styled one.

noir

dress: BCBG | cape coat: BCBG | beanie: Target | polish: Essie in stylenomics | crossbody: Prada

I have been particularly excited for this look because of the polished effortlessness. The dress is so versatile and can be dressed up or down.. so naturally I decided to do both. I'm all about comfort so when I can combine my favorite pieces to make them wearable all day, I get pretty excited.

Huntington Library

My dad, brother, and I took a break from football and decided to venture to the Huntington Library a couple months ago. Whenever my dad comes to town we try to make the most of it with a air tight schedule, so it was nice to have a slow day, and enjoy some of the beauty in nature and art that the Huntington so nicely displays.

pre-Thanksgiving errands

shirt + flats: Forever21| jeans: Target (similar) | belt: AE | nail polish: Essie in penny talk

This time of year can be stressful. While running the usual Thanksgiving preparation errands I wanted to wear something comfortable, yet fun. A touch of gold is always a staple in my wardrobe. I love fall tones and I consider thanksgiving to be the culmination because it's officially Christmas season! Seasons greetings!
