cozy cashmere

boots: Sam Edelman | coat: Free People (similar) | sweater: (similar) | watch: Brera (similar) | ring: Tiffany's

A pop of color is always a good idea. An oversized neutral toned coat is almost imperative for this season. I have searched high and low for something exactly like these Sam Edelman camel boots (on sale now!), and with the oxford lace-up detail I swoon. I'm not cashmere's biggest fan for the itchy frustration I experience, however this darling hot pink number found in my mom's donate pile had to be rescued. This post is a tad late and features some of my favorite items, and days like these I appreciate the simplicity in life and my outfit. My men's collection signet ring is never in my jewelry box in fear of it collecting dust. I cannot put into words how much I adore and appreciate this ring.. so I won't. My Brera watch unfortunately does collect dust on my makeshift coke bottle watch display in fear of any possible damage the world outside my room may bring. I cannot wait for weather when I can sport a turtleneck everyday of the week!

somewhat western

earrings: Madewell | top: Foreign Exchange | slip dress: Target

I'm all about the slip dress as a dress movement, ever since Blake Lively as Serena Van Der Woodsen donned her dress skivvies under a very simple coat I have been on board. I may not be ready to go for the statement just yet, so I tied mine up to disguise my slip as a long tanktop. I have been dying to wear this FE button up, but after first use almost all of the buttons flew off and have yet to be recovered. I love the updated cowboy look and think dark blue and deep red are a choice color combo.. (I'm thinking wedding bells).

What is your favorite color combos for fall?

everyday make-up

Obviously this isn't my every single day routine, but these are the products I use most regularly. The days that I am running low on time I just use my Benefit concealer which I swear by, mascara, and a tiny bit of Stila eyeliner in a slightly sparkly grey. I'm particularly fond of Urban Decay's Naked palettes and am using mine in excess in order to try out Naked 3, coming to stores oh so soon.

Who doesn't love Sephora? I've grown up in the beauty-filled wonder, and so am thankful for this. That trademark smell releases the happiest of dopamine. I would sit and watch my mom get ready everyday. There was something about watching others do their hair and makeup and teaching myself to do the same and making it my own. I'll never forget the first time I saw a beautifully blended smoky eye when I was nine.. is that weird? I'm a perfectionist and my make-up is no exception, I love learning of new techniques and tools. I am grateful for the cosmetic industry for introducing me to the fabulous side of being a girl.

concealer: Benefit Boi-ing
foundation: bareMinerals Matte
blush: Nars Orgasm
eye shadow palette: Urban Decay Naked 2
liquid liner: Stila Stay All Day
eyeliner: Stila Smudge Stick in Triggerfish (grey)
mascara: Smashbox Full Exposure
gloss: Bobbi Brown in Buff
perfume: Flora by Gucci

It has taken me much time to cultivate a perfect-for-me routine. I'm talking years, and what I've found is that I prefer a very matte foundation. I grew up in the immensely humid climate of North Florida so I preferred something on my face to not make me feel like I was clammy. Don't get me wrong I think some girls can really pull off the 'dewy' look, making me wish I was in their exclusive fairy-like club.

As of late I have some pretty tame make-up compared to my insane daily mask, which was quite extensive. However, my makeup has always been solely for me. This stemming from my mother and her mother, but even when we know we're not going anywhere we still have our war paint on (as my dad would call it). This reminds me of a sweatshirt I had that read "all dresses up and no place to go" and this is relevant presently. I enjoy getting ready every morning, there's a certain relaxing quality about it for me. Having ample time is key, being rushed just takes all the fun out of it. It's all about what works for you!

Simplicity is very important. Neutral colors and extenuating tones is what I strive for. All of the above are my highly recommended favorites and are necessities in my make-up bag.

cold shoulder

sweater: BCBG (similar) | hat: UO  | bag: Zara (in stores) | sneakers: H&M (similar) | lipstick: Cyber by MAC
Yet another rendition of my 'I've had this forever' outfits minus the hat and bag. If you're like me there's a certain guilty pleasure in pulling out the cut-out sweaters especially in this fickle time of year. What a fun take on the traditional sweatshirt! Satin is such a beautiful thing, my mom picked these champagne sneakers for me as a Valentine's gift. Isn't that always the way.. mom will always be my Valentine, and I'm more than okay with that. Like I've said before I have an unrelenting love for plaid so this ruffled button up is an ancient Target find. Everyday ensembles as such is what makes me feel most comfortable and cozy. An ideal look for occasions where I feel anything but on the inside, like say a first date for instance. I'm giggling because there's something about the curled hair and sundress uniform that makes me cringe.

wildfox

blouse: Equipment | sweater: Wildfox | jeans: Joe's | shoes: Nasty Gal
I'm definitely going through a Wildfox phase. Do you blame me with their impossibly soft sweaters, and fun couture. Seriously what's not to love. If you haven't checked out their most recent collection do yourself a favor, however your wallet may not appreciate it, so proceed with caution!

I feel flabbergasted because I have completely forgotten about this outfit. Here I am thinking of this ensemble as my all-time favorite post, and come to find I've never even bothered to look at the photos. Has that ever happened to you, building something up so much in your head that you almost forget about it entirely.. another lesson in how organization is a much needed asset. Hope you enjoy this outfit as much as I have!

starry-eyed

cape: F21 (similar) | dress: H&M | boots: Jeffrey Campbell | sunglasses: RayBan
I have been obsessing over these boots for quite some time, and am finally so glad to be sporting them! I started drooling over Jeffrey's tallest boots in September, they made it to my fall wishlist in mid-October, and now reside in my closet.. what a beautiful chain of events. They are quite literally the most perfect legging boots I have ever come across. I purchased my cape last year from Forever21, and am particularly excited to wear it now considering all the recent renditions of the cape and even cape coat. Look forward to my favorites this season! Cheesy post title aside, I'm just so in love with my star-cluttered H&M dress. The drop waist, pattern, and pleating sold me. I feel like you will be seeing each of these pieces, but in a variety of ways.

what my iPhone has to say..

Rodeo with mama
landing in sin city

Hofbräuhaus
the last documentation of my beloved RL

Life has happened the past couple of days, and I have felt swamped. So here are a couple of iPhone pics from this past week. My mom and I had a day date after getting our passports renewed at the Beverly Hills Library, and had lunch at Crustacean (Santa Monica and Bedford). Let me just tell you I'm drooling now just thinking over their famous garlic noodles.

The remainder of the week was dedicated to the SEMA show in Vegas. I have no actual photos of the insane cars from the trip, which I find extremely comical. How does one attend a car show with no proof, let me tell you it was easier than one would think.

We did however venture to Hofbräuhaus, which is an something I thought I'd never experience. The authentic German food, ambiance, and liter beers made it an unforgettable experience. All this aside I managed to leave behind my favorite Ralph Lauren high neck sweater, which still makes me sick to my stomach. The sweltering temperature in the beer hall had me sweating, prompting me to buy a house tank top. I essentially traded my favorite sweater for a silly pajama top. I attempted to atone for this colossal mistake with a similar Zara top, but it does my Maxxinista find no justice. The price we pay for fashion, right?

The last of the series was yesterday with my new stellar UO fedora in stores now.

colder weather

top: Free People | jeans: J.Brand | shoes: Nasty Gal | coat: Nasty Gal | sunglasses: Target
Hallelujah! It's here again and *fingers crossed* it keeps a little longer this time. I live for overcast freezing days such as this, yet another reason to stay in my cozy bed all day. This time I literally put my favorite staple pieces together in one outfit, and I was quite pleased with the end product. The beading on this FP top is insane, I adore the tiny silver/gold accents making it go with anything. These sunglasses are perfect for those lazy days when make-up feels like a chore and not a necessity.

happy monday.... wah wah wah
